The Branson Way

For years people have been wondering how to replicate the success of super successful entrepreneurs such as Alan Sugar and Richard Branson to name but two. The formula is no easy one to workout, with so many pitfalls on the way and so much money constantly at stake. Go to the following link and you’ll find an interesting article on just this subject, concerning Richard Branson’s attitude to running a business so you get the most out of it: http://www.voiceofenigin.com/2010/07/12/virgin-%E2%80%9Cwill-go-on-way-beyond-me%E2%80%9D-branson/
And by all accounts you can’t argue with the man’s philosophy; it would seem he has a knack for taking a business that is doing OK and turning it in to a magnet for money. Though slightly unorthodox in style, it’s plain to see that Branson’s unique take on life has enabled him to do what many entrepreneurs could only dream of achieving. And he knows how to laugh, too, which makes him even more unique.
One thing that caught my attention in the article was Branson’s attitude to employing people with regard to their academic qualifications. In the article the man makes no secret of the fact that he values people as people, not just how well they did at school and university and whether or not they are capable of passing a certain exam. And perhaps this is what separates him from many others who think very differently? By employing people who don’t necessarily have an outstanding academic record – but do show potential if you look in the right places – he has made many businesses work, with success across the world. Whether you are running a business that makes self storage or flies internation 747s, there is a lot to be learned from Richard Branson.
Be sure to check out his writing to see what you can learn!
